Describing Ordinary Feelings.
Poet Billy Collins. His newest book "Picnic, Lightning" (Univ of Pittsburgh) is his sixth collection. His other books include, "The Art of Drowning," (Univ of Pittsburgh Press), and "Questions about Angels" (William Morrow & Co.,1991), which was selected as a winner of the National Poetry Series Competition in 1990. John Updike says of Collins' poetry, "Billy Collins writes lovely poems. . . Limpid, gently and consistently startling, more serious than they seem, they describe all the worlds that are and were and some others besides." Collins currently teaches at Lehman College of the City University of New York.
